In spring 2012, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) replaced the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS).
The STAAR program includes annual assessments for
•Reading and mathematics, grades 3–8
•Writing at grades 4 and 7
•Science at grades 5 and 8
•Social studies at grade 8
•End-of-course assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, biology and U.S history.
Beginning in 2016, TEA will voluntarily administer STAAR EOC assessments for English III and Algebra II. Source -- STAAR Resources.

Texas has now released the copies of the state tests in Math, Reading, Writing and Science. All tests are in pdf format.
2014 STAAR RELEASED STATE TESTS
TEA released two types of test questions for the STAAR test - sample questions and test forms. Sample test questions are small subsets of test questions released from the STAAR test banks. These test questions may have been previously administered to Texas students. A test form is a set of released test questions previously administered together to Texas students which reflects the STAAR test blueprints.
TEA will release the first test form administered in the spring for each general STAAR assessment in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and every third year thereafter. Released test questions on this webpage do not represent all the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) student expectations eligible for assessment on STAAR. To see the 2014 released questions

"The Use of TEA Copyrighted Materials
Section 101.4 of the Texas Administration Code (TAC) states, "A representative form of each assessment instrument required under the Texas Education Code, Chapter 39, Subchapter B, shall be made available periodically for public review and for formative student evaluations by school districts." In order to implement this section of the TAC, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) examinations are released to the public each year after all districts have completed testing. Field test items, which are used to build future forms of the test, are not released. Spring 2003 was the first administration of the TAKS tests."

TELPAS Reading Released Tests Grades 2–12
New Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) reading tests for grades 2–12 were implemented in the 2007–2008 school year. Released Tests–Interactive Online Versions
STAAR L student practice sets consist of 25 items for each STAAR L assessment and are available in the online format so that students may experience test items as they will be presented in the operational administration. There are no administration directions for the practice sets. It is strongly recommended that students complete the appropriate STAAR L online tutorial before accessing the practice sets in order to learn to use the STAAR L linguistic accommodation tools and become familiar with the online testing environment.
