With the adoption of the new Illinois Learning Standards incorporating the Common Core, the state has retired many of its old tests and replaced them with new, innovative assessments that will provide educators with reliable data to help guide instruction. Often aided by technological advances, these assessments will allow for students to better showcase their skills compared to the old, multiple-choice format. PARCC Test Design ChangesIn response to feedback from teachers, students, and parents, the new Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) assessment will return next year with a shorter, simpler format to improve the testing process while ensuring reliable results. PARCC assesses the New Illinois Learning? Standards Incorporating the Common Core and will be administered in English Language Arts and Mathematics. PARCC assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics will be administered to all students in grades 3-8.? Students who participate in the DLM-AA alternate assessment will be assessed in science in grades 5, 8, and 11. IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ILLINOIS STATE TESTS"ISBE plans to map all items on the 2014 ISAT reading and mathematics assessments to Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The reading and mathematics assessments will be composed entirely of items written to CCSS.

TIMSS Online Tests for grades 3 and 4, 7 and 8 and grades 11 and 12. Tests are for Math and Science. An advanced Math Grade 12 is also available that requires knowledge of some calculus. |
