Nations Report Card  Mathematics, reading and science tests, comparison of time spent doing homework, international comparison of adult literacy. Much of the data is that of TIMSS (see below)...The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas.

School and Student Performance Data-- The Nations Report Card

Students in more than 17,600 schools participated in the 2005 mathematics assessment. The assessment was administered from January to early April 2005 to more than 172,000 students at grade 4, to 162,000 students at grade 8, and to 9,000 students at grade 12. Results of the 2015 assessment at grades 4, 8, and 12 are available now at www.nationsreportcard.gov

Mathematics - The results of the NAEP mathematics assessment present a broad view of what our nation's students know and can do in mathematics. The assessment measures students' knowledge and skills in mathematics and students' ability to apply their knowledge in problem-solving situations.

Reading - The results of the NAEP reading assessment present a broad view of what our nation's students know and can do in reading.

Science -The results of the NAEP science assessment present a broad view of what our nation's students know and can do in science. The assessment is designed to measure students' knowledge and abilities in the areas of physical science, life science, and Earth and space sciences.

Writing -- Results of the 2011 NAEP computer-based writing assessment, administered to students in grades 8 and 12 throughout the United States, are now available. This is the first time the writing assessment was delivered via computer.

Geography -The results of the NAEP geography assessment present a broad view of what our nation's students know and can do in geography. The assessment is designed to measure students' knowledge of geography in the context of space and place, environment and society, and spatial dynamics and connections.

Economics - Results of the 2012 NAEP economics assessment at grade 12 are now available. The assessment was administered to a nationally representative sample of about 10,900 students across the nation. Results are compared with those of 2006 when the first NAEP economics assessment was administered

Civics -The results of the NAEP civics assessment present a broad view of what our nation's students know and can do in civics. The assessment is designed to measure the civics knowledge and skills that are critical to the responsibilities of citizenship in America's constitutional democracy.

The Arts - Eighth-grade students in schools across the nation participated in the 2008 NAEP arts assessment administered from January to March 2008.

US History -The results of the NAEP U.S. history assessment present a broad view of what our nation's students know and can do in U.S. history. The assessment is designed to measure students' knowledge of American history in the context of democracy, culture, technological and economic changes, and America’s changing world role.
