What is happening to our atmosphere?

Looking at the data---

EThe graph below of the left shows increasing temperatures on earth from 1860 to present. Beginning around 1960 we see a sharp upward spike in temperatures above the pre-industrial age. The graph below on the right shows the atmospheric Carbon Dioxide increases from 1960 to the present.

It is not just Carbon Dioxide polluting the atmosphere

Other gases global emission gases

Nitrous Oxide-- The largest source of nitrous oxide emissions is from agriculture. This accounts for r about 78% of global emissions. This is due to the use of nitrogen-based fertilizers, the management of animal waste, and the planting of legume crops. In addition nitrous oxide is produced during industrial activities; combustion of fossil fuels and solid waste; as well as during treatment of wastewater.

Methane--

HFC,PFC, SF6--

Melting ice leads to rising Sea Levels

"Sea levels across Florida are as much as 8 inches higher than they were in 1950, and the rate of sea level rise is accelerating....For instance, sea levels around Virginia Key have risen by 8 inches since 1950, but they have been rising by 1 inch every 3 years over the past 10 years, based on tide gauge data. This acceleration in sea level rise is projected to continue. In the same area around Miami, sea levels increased 6 inches over the last 31 years, from 1985 to 2016, but they are expected to rise another 6 inches in half that time, over the next 15 years, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers high scenario projections..". -- source

Increasing Atmospheric Temperatures

The study, published in Environmental Research Letters by IOP Publishing (Dec 4, 2024) , projects that most land regions as defined by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will likely surpass the critical 1.5°C threshold by 2040 or earlier.

Similarly, several regions are on track to exceed the 3.0°C threshold by 2060 -- sooner than anticipated in earlier studies. see: AI predicts that most of the world will see temperatures rise to 3°C much faster than previously expected see: AI predicts that most of the world will see temperatures rise to 3°C much faster than previously expected
